The Chinese government appears to have leveled the playing field for foreign shipping companies and forwarders in terms of its new value-added tax on logistics.
The 6% rise in shipping costs for international shippers importing and exporting from and to China which was implemented in August of last year has been dropped. The news which was issued by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and the State Administration of Taxation (SAT) has been warmly received by the shipper and carrier communities.
